Benefits of Green Clay

There are many types of Clay which differentiate each other from the composition and mineral content. Due to their composition they will have different properties. We particularly love Green Clay.

Green Clay is a naturally occurring sediment clay. It is not very common because it comes from the sea, so it is very rich in marine minerals which are beneficial to the skin.

It has absorbent properties, it cleanses and detoxifies the skin. Clay has a negative charge, so it attracts and draws out impurities from the skin, which tends to be positively charged. It works like a magnet to eliminate impurities, dirt, pollutants and excess oil. It also enhances blood circulation resulting in radiant naturally glowing skin.

The mineral content is quite high, in particular calcium, iron, magnesium, silica, potassium.

It is suitable for all skin types, especially for oily, sensitive and acne prone.

It comes in green/grey powder that needs to be activated with a liquid, for example water. Once mixed it gets a creamy texture and the colour becomes darker. It can be used as a face mask but also as a body mask (for stretchmarks) or hair mask (to give hair full body), can be added to bath water.

Other ingredients can be added to the mask depending on its functionality. For example for dry skin you can add a couple of drops of olive oil, for oily skin you can add a few drops of orange or grapefruit juice, for stretchmarks add carrot juice and grapeseed oil.
